Or Yours
Along the path of continuely making absolutes, declaring 19 year old truths, and deciding exactly how the world really works, I will again proclaim the greats that I have found in two days. Closing my lids, shadowing my brow, painting the sunset in my mind and then opening everything up to find the sky right before me more brilliant than imagined I discover
Anything that I will need will be provided. Today, tomorrow, yesterday, and in 37 years, I will wander through a million pieces of information that are all relevant to me and I will struggle only when my mind chooses not to take the pieces, or my stubborn will refuses to digest them. Thoughts, sounds, fragments of conversation, epiphanies, cracks in the curb, and pieces of divine meals will give me opportunities to learn EVERYTHING that could lead me to completion. I firmly believe no man will die without beginning a journey that has a completion line, one that, regaurdless of whether it is crossed due to disaster or fate, exists, but one that only sits on the end of a completed mosaic. Now, I have no choice but to open my eyes wider, swallow with more solitude and try to find each piece that belongs to me. Let the party begin.
Arrowhead
Sitting in the sun, generously given time to ponder and dig through all that inhabits my mind and finding more to contemplate. I like this...
Peter: [in voiceover, as he looks at the Lincoln Memorial] You can't look at those eyes and not think of what being an American has meant. Now there's an end to it. Soon, there will be no America. We'll be history, quickly lost and distorted, like Mr. Lincoln himself ... I suppose there will have to be new revolutions, with new generations who will have to discover the values which our forefathers handed down to us. If those truths stop being real, maybe it's better to let them go, to let some new generation discover, as though for the first time. Maybe freedom is just one of those things you can't inherit.
